Gail Toth's 2022 Virginia Polar Dip

What started out as a week-long respite at Camp Sunshine after our oldest daughter was diagnosed with cancer at age 2 1/2 has turned into a very big part of my family's life. After that first trip to Camp Sunshine we have returned for the past 25 yrs. as volunteers. Having experienced first-hand the impact of a life-threatening illness and the support we received at Camp Sunshine, we have become involved in fundraising so other families can experience this unique retreat. It is one of my favorite places on earth.
Camp Sunshine is a retreat for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families to relax and be around other families going through similar challenges. At Camp Sunshine each session focuses on a different illness. Programs include housing, meals, on-site medical and psychosocial support, as well as many activities for the whole family. Week-long sessions at Camp Sunshine are free to the families because of events like this.
Not only do I jump in the Polar Dip, but I plan and organize the entire event. My personal fundraising goal is $1000 while my goal for the whole Virginia Polar Dip is $80,000. We are well on our way to raising $1M for Camp Sunshine through this event.
No donation is too small. Please join me by plunging with us or cheering us on. Thank you in advance for helping other families have a chance to experience the magic of Camp Sunshine.
