Gail Toth's 2021 Virtual Virginia Polar Dip and Dash

What started out as a week-long respite at Camp Sunshine after our oldest daughter was diagnosed with cancer at age 2 1/2 has turned into a very big part of my family's life. After that first trip to Camp Sunshine we have returned every year for the past 24 yrs. as volunteers (except this past summer due to Covid). Having experienced first-hand the impact of a life-threatening illness and the support we received at Camp Sunshine, we have become involved in fundraising so other families can experience this unique retreat. It is one of my favorite places on earth.
Camp Sunshine is a retreat for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families to relax and be around other families going through similar challenges. At Camp Sunshine each session focuses on a different illness. Programs include housing, meals, on-site medical and psychosocial support, as well as many activities for the whole family. Families attend Camp Sunshine free of charge due to donations and fundraising events such as this one
My personal fundraising goal is $1000, while my goal for the whole Virtual Virginia Polar Dip and Dash is $25,000. I am still responsible for planning and publicizing this Virtual event. We hope to be back in person at Lake Anne in 2022!
No donation is too small. Please join me by signing up to take your own Virtual Dip and Dash or by making a donation. Thank you in advance for helping other families have a chance to experience the magic of Camp Sunshine.
